📋 Core Documents Required for All Applicants

  • Valid Passport (6+ months validity)
  • Travel ticket
  • Hotel/Accommodation booking
ℹ️ Note: These are the basic documents required for all applicants. Additional documents may be required based on your nationality and GCC residence status.

Group A

Reduced-Requirement Applicants

If your nationality is listed under this group on the Bahrain eVisa Policy, you will submit only the three core documents needed for the eVisa. No financial proof or GCC documents apply to Group A.

Group B

Standard Applicants (Majority of Nationalities)

Most applicants fall under Group B. These applicants must submit the core documents and then follow the GCC or bank statement rules. This group forms the main approval route for the Bahrain eVisa.

Group C

Applicants Requiring Extra Supporting Documents

If your nationality appears under this group, you will follow the GCC or bank statement rules and may also need to submit an extra visa from a recognised country if you do not hold a GCC document. Review the details for this group carefully.

Core Documents Required for All Applicants

All applicants must prepare the following three documents. These documents form the foundation of every Bahrain eVisa application.

Passport Bio Page

A clear scan of your passport’s main page showing your details. The passport must be valid for your stay in Bahrain.

Passport Requirements - Bahrain eVisa

What passport page is required?
You must upload only the Passport Bio Page (the main page with your personal details and photo).

Passport Bio Page must show:
Full name Passport number Date of birth Nationality Passport expiry date Passport photograph

Can I upload a black & white passport scan?
Yes, but colour scans are strongly recommended. Black & white images may be rejected if details are unclear.

Should the passport be signed?
A signature is not mandatory for the Bahrain eVisa, as long as the bio page details are visible.

What if my passport expires soon?
Your passport must be valid for your entire stay in Bahrain. Passports expiring during the trip may be rejected.

Proof of Accommodation

Submit either a hotel booking that matches your travel dates or the Bahrain ID of the person you will stay with. The document must clearly show the full details.

Option 1: Confirmed Air Ticket

  • Traveller’s full name and passport details
Copy of hotel booking

Requirements for Group A – Reduced-Requirement Applicants

If you belong to this group, your application is limited to the 3 core documents listed above. No GCC Residence Permit, bank statement, or extra visa is required. Once your nationality is confirmed under Group A, your file is complete with only the passport scan, onward travel proof, and accommodation document.

Requirements for Group B – Standard Applicants

Group B applicants must meet the core requirements and follow one of the two paths below. This step is based on the question asked in the eVisa form: “Do you have a current valid Residence Permit or Visit Visa for a GCC country?”

If You Select “Yes” to the GCC Question

Submit a copy of your valid Residence Permit or Visit Visa from any of the following: Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, or the United Arab Emirates.

  • The document must be valid for at least 3 months from your intended entry to Bahrain.
  • Upload both front and back sides where applicable.

This option is strongly considered a stable approval route, as it confirms your residency or visit status in the region.

GCC Visit Visa

GCC Residence Permit

Can I apply if my GCC visa is expired?
No. Expired GCC visas or permits are not accepted. The document must be valid at the time of application.

Is a GCC Visit Visa acceptable, or only a Residence Permit?
Both are acceptable. You can apply using either a valid GCC Visit Visa or a valid GCC Residence Permit.

How long must my GCC visa or permit be valid?
Your GCC Residence Permit or Visit Visa must be valid for at least 3 months from your intended date of entry into Bahrain.

If You Select “No” to the GCC Question

You must submit a stamped & certified bank statement or e-statement under the visitor's name, covering the last 3 months. The statement should:

  • The account should be active with regular transactions.
  • The ending balance must show at least USD 1,000 (or 380 BHD).

While this is the stated minimum, applicants with a balance of around USD 4,600 tend to receive smoother approvals, as this amount demonstrates a strong financial standing and strengthens the assessment of your application.

Requirements for Group C – Applicants Requiring Extra Supporting Documents

Group C applicants follow the same steps as Group B but may need an additional document if they do not hold a valid GCC Residence Permit or Visit Visa.

If You Select “Yes” to the GCC Question

Provide your GCC Residence Permit or Visit Visa. No further financial or travel history documents are needed beyond the core requirements.

If You Select “No” to the GCC Question

Submit two documents:

  1. Your 3-month bank statement meeting the same conditions as Group B.
  2. A valid visa or residence document from any of the following: the UAE, UK, USA, Saudi Arabia (not including Hajj or Umrah visas), any Schengen country, or a US Green Card.

This extra document supports your travel profile and is required only for applicants from this group.
